Police stops INDIA-bloc MP delegation from meeting Wangchuk at Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital
Haryana Police blocked an INDIA-bloc MP delegation from visiting activist Sonam Wangchuk at a Gurugram hospital. Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike protesting alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.

Haryana Police on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) stopped a 15-member MP delegation from the INDIA bloc, outside the Medanta Hospital, Gurugram as they reached there to meet activist Sonam Wangchuk , who has been on an indefinite hunger strike.
The Haryana Police said as per hospital authorities only those with blood relation to Mr. Wangchuk are allowed.
Following this, the MPs proceeded to sit outside the hospital gate, as they continued to argue with the police.
Mr. Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28 after joining the Cockroach Janta Party-led agitation demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reforms in the education system and the resignation of Mr. Pradhan.
