Why it matters
The incident reflects ongoing concerns regarding youth safety and public order in affluent residential areas.
Riot police were forced to shut down a chaotic Halloween party at a $10 million eastern suburbs property in Sydney on Friday night. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the coastal home on Eastbourne Avenue which overlooks Clovelly Beach, at about 8.50pm following reports of an out-of-control party. By the time officers arrived, large crowds of party-goers were spilling out of the property and onto the surrounding streets. OnScene Bondi reported more than 200 people were at the event, including gate crashers who hopped the fence to get into the function. Pictures from the event show revellers dressed in police outfits, Lebron James jerseys and as Breaking Bad characters.
