Officers were called to the area of King High Avenue and De Quincy Boulevard, just before 1:30 p.m. for reports of a damaged vehicle that was driving erratically.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was involved in a crash and attempted to flee the scene as officers arrived.
Authorities allege that he was in possession of a firearm and say there was an interaction between the suspect and two officers.
