The Galiveedu police in Annamayya district rescued a woman and her two children who were reportedly attempting to end their lives on Saturday night at Veligallu dam, 65 km from here.
The police said that they received information at around 7.15 p.m. on Saturday (September 5) from a man hailing from Talupula mandal in Sri Sathya Sai district. He reported that his wife had allegedly left home with their two children following a family dispute and was going to end their lives at Veligallu dam in Galiveedu mandal.
Immediately after receiving the information, Sub-Inspector (SI) Narasimha Reddy, along with his team, rushed to Veligallu dam and found the woman reportedly moving along the bund with the children. The police team tactfully diverted their attention and rescued them safely.
