Police raid illegal laterite stone quarry, seize material worth ₹16 lakh

The Byndoor police raided an illegal laterite stone quarry being operated on government land and seized material worth ₹16 lakh on Wednesday at Kalthod village in Byndoor taluk.

The Udupi district police, in a statement here, said the beat police officer of Kalthod village informed the police station that an illegal laterite stone quarry was being operated on government land at Byatiyani. Following this, Police Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar, along with officials of the Department of Mines and Geology, raided the stone quarry site on Wednesday afternoon.
