Over 20 police officers from Coimbatore received the President’s Police Medal, the Union Home Minister’s Medal, and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medal under various categories from Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in Chennai on Friday.
City Commissioner of Police N. Kannan received the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service. Deputy Commissioners of Police G. Karthikeyan (Coimbatore South) and P. Thangadurai (Coimbatore North) received Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Award and Independence Day Police Medal for Meritorious Service respectively.
Deputy Superintendent of Police C. Chandrasekar, Organised Crime Unit, Crime Branch CID, and Inspector M. Pugalmaran, Special Intelligence Cell, received Independence Day Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Ramesh, Control Room, was awarded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna Medal.
