Police nab three migrant workers over murder of their co-worker in Velachery

Three migrant workers were arrested in Chennai for the murder of a co-worker following a dispute over a failed UPI money transfer. The victim was found with fatal injuries after a disagreement regarding the transfer of 45,000 rupees.

The Velachery police on Sunday arrested three men in connection with the murder of their fellow migrant worker from Odisha following a dispute over the online transfer of wages.
The city police said the accused – Qasim and his accomplices Sheriful and Tabir, all from Bihar – were involved in the construction of a house in IOB Colony of Velachery. Ranjan used to transfer their wages to them via UPI.
On Saturday, he was found dead with fatal injuries. The Velachery police sent the body to the Government Royapettah Hospital.
