“You will recall that in May 2023, His Excellency the President issued Executive Order Number 3 of 2023 banning the burning, production and commercial trade of charcoal in Northern Uganda and North-eastern Uganda. We are now intensifying enforcement of that directive,” Kituuma said.
Kituuma said a joint operation conducted on July 25 in Madi-Okollo District and surrounding areas resulted in the impounding of several bags of illegally produced charcoal and the arrest of eight suspects. (New Vision/Files)
