Police hunt boyfriend over fatal stabbing of 21-year-old woman in Umoja, Nairobi

Detectives in Buruburu are hunting for a man suspected of killing his 21-year-old girlfriend, Fransisca Wanja Thuranira, in Umoja Two, Nairobi. Wanja was found dead inside her aunt’s apartment on Thursday after being stabbed eight times in the chest with a kitchen knife. A postmortem conducted at Mama Lucy Teaching and Referral Hospital later confirmed that she died from the knife wounds. Police identified her boyfriend, whose name has been withheld, as the main suspect after witnesses reported seeing him enter the apartment with Wanja that morning. He has since gone missing, and his phone has been switched off. Investigators are using mobile phone records to trace his movements. Reports indicate that data obtained during the probe reportedly places him at the apartment and shows that he tried to call Wanja several times that morning.
