KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — Police have detained seven Yemeni nationals to assist in investigations into an incident involving two cars being driven dangerously along Jalan Sungai Besi here early yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the men, aged between 23 and 26, were arrested in the capital and have since been released on police bail.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred at about 12.30 am on Aug 28 while the two vehicles were travelling along Jalan Sungai Besi towards Jalan Bukit Bintang.
“Passengers in both vehicles were seen leaning their bodies out and dangerously sitting on the window frames while the vehicles were in motion.
“Five of those detained are students at a public university in Kedah, while the other two are university graduates,” he said in a statement today.
