Following directions from the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj, police teams led by Inspectors have been conducting intensive searches and enquiries across all police districts since Thursday (September 10, 2026) night.
During the operation, the teams detained 185 persons with criminal backgrounds whose history sheets are maintained at various police stations in the city. They are being questioned to ascertain their current activities and possible involvement in recent offences.
