Police destroy 30 kgs of ganja in A.P.’s Nandyal district
Police in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, destroyed over 30 kilograms of seized ganja in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The disposal was conducted under the supervision of a district committee to ensure environmental and safety compliance.

Police officials in Nandyal on Thursday (August 27, 2026) destroyed 30.276 kgs of ganja stock seized in 15 cases and registered at 12 police stations across the district.
The disposal was carried out under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Sunil Shoran, members of the district drug disposal committee, Pollution Control Board, Excise Department, and Panchayat officials.
Speaking to the media, the SP said that the seized contraband was scientifically incinerated at designated machinery at JSW Cement Limited (Jindal Cement Factory), following environmental norms and safety standards prescribed by the Pollution Control Board.
