Various programmes marked the Police Day celebrations held in Coimbatore on Sunday.

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner N. Kannan hoisted the police flag at the celebrations held on the Police Recruits School campus and accepted the guard of honour from the personnel. This was followed by the police pledge.

Mr. Kannan, West Zone Inspector General of Police R.V. Ramya Bharathi, Coimbatore Range Deputy Inspector General of Police P. Saminathan and other senior officers paid tribute at the martyrs column in honour of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. A two-minute silence was then observed in their memory.
