The Visakhapatnam City Police conducted simultaneous surprise inspections at 69 resorts across the city on Friday as part of a special enforcement drive. The drive aims to check whether resorts are following statutory regulations and to prevent illegal activities.
Following the directions of Commissioner of Police Shankhabratha Bagchi, as many as 33 special police teams comprising 110 personnel were deployed for the inspections. The teams conducted simultaneous checks at resorts and other establishments falling under various police station limits across the city.
The inspections focused on verifying mandatory licences, registrations and statutory permissions; compliance with fire-safety, health and hygiene norms; qualifications and certificates of employees; maintenance of mandatory records and registers; and display of licences, permissions, rate charts and other required information.
