Police conduct major search operation to check sale of ganja, tobacco products in Annamayya district

More than 100 police personnel conducted an extensive cordon-and-search operation at Angallu village of Kurabalakota mandal in Annamayya district in the early hours of Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli said that the special drive targeted suspected illegal activities, including the sale of ganja and narcotic substances. The SP said that the police teams had thoroughly searched streets and conducted checks at houses and other suspected locations in the village.
The searches were aimed to identify and crack down on groups allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of ganja and prohibited tobacco products.
“Vehicles without documents were also seized during the operation, and they would be subjected to verification,” the SP said.
