Police called to family home of Hayden Panettiere’s on-off boyfriend

Police were called to a home associated with Brian Hickerson shortly after the death of his on-off girlfriend, actress Hayden Panettiere. Reports suggest the pair had recently reconnected despite a history of domestic violence and concerns from Panettiere's friends.
Why it matters
The death of a public figure and the involvement of a partner with a history of domestic abuse raises questions about personal safety and private relationships.
Police were called to a home belonging to a relative of Brian Hickerson on Wednesday, August 19, days after the death of his on-off girlfriend Hayden Panettiere.
Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16, at the age of 36, and it subsequently emerged that the executive assistant – who was previously jailed for domestic violence incidents involving the late star – and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were present during her final moments, despite the widespread belief they had split for good in 2022.
Their statement added: “However, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2.32pm.”
No official cause of death has yet been released, but dispatch audio that has been released showed discussions of “overdose” and “cardiac arrest”.
