Sri Sathya Sai district police arrested a man allegedly involved in a series of house burglaries and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth nearly ₹84 lakh.

Addressing a press conference here, Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Ontipuli Srinivasulu from Chowdepalli in Annamayya district.

The SP said that the accused had reportedly been committing burglaries since 2016 and was linked to over 20 cases in Puttaparthi, Hindupur, Tirupati, Chittoor, Pakala, Madanapalle, Palamaner, Piler and other places across Rayalaseema districts. He was reportedly apprehended earlier in Srikalahasti in connection with a burglary case. Later, he shifted to rented houses in Piler, Bukkapatnam and Dharmavaram to evade police surveillance, the SP informed.
