ACT Policing today said they were seeking public assistance after the incident of animal cruelty at a rural property in Tuggeranong on Wednesday night.

A statement from police said the sheep were found in a holding pen by the property's owner on Thursday morning.

"In the holding pen, multiple sheep were deliberately injured, resulting in the death of one sheep and the euthanasia of another due to the severity of its injuries."

Police allege the property was also ransacked, and a "large amount of disruption" caused to the premises.
