PNP warns buyers against fake rice sacks used in repacking scheme

PNP-CIDG operatives arrested a Chinese national and his Filipina employee and confiscated around 80,800 allegedly counterfeit rice sacks worth about P800,000 in Bocaue, Bulacan.

PNP chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. warned that the sacks could be used to make ordinary or lower-cost rice appear to be branded or premium products.

Nartatez had directed the CIDG and other concerned police units to intensify monitoring and enforcement against counterfeiting activities and urged consumers to report suspicious rice sellers and repacking operations.
