The Philippine National Police (PNP) ordered an investigation to trace the source of a false mass shooting report at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas that circulated on social media and group chats.
Police clarified that a Sept. 30 death inside a vehicle at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute was unrelated to the fake shooting report and warned the public against combining the two incidents.
The PNP strengthened school security measures following recent campus shootings in Tacloban, Zamboanga and South Cotabato, including a nationwide review of security protocols and coordination with DepEd on active shooter drills.
