PNP deploys over 3,000 cops for BARMM polls as gun ban starts

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed 3,316 police officers for security ahead of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.
"These 3,316 are separate from our PNP personnel performing regular police duties," PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said during a press briefing at Camp Crame on Thursday.

Co noted that a gun ban is now being implemented by the police force in the region starting July 16 and ending on September 29.
