PM Modi to undertake 4-day visit to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a four-day trip on Saturday (August 27, 2026) to strengthen ties with Uzbekistan and attend the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan.
In the first leg of the trip, Mr. Modi will visit Uzbekistan's capital, Tashkent, from August 29 to 30 to explore ways to further bolster the bilateral ties in diverse sectors, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
From Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister will travel to Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek on a two-day visit to attend the SCO summit that is expected to deliberate extensively on the evolving security scenario in the region, it said.
At the SCO, PM Modi will address the summit where he will highlight India's priorities of security, connectivity and opportunity, it said.
Chinese President Xi Jinping , Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are among the leaders likely to attend the summit.
