Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday (August 8, 2026) took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of finding time for “traitors” while being indifferent towards protesting youth and having no time to attend Parliament.
Mr. Thackeray was referring to a recent meeting of Mr. Modi with his rival Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde and the six newly inducted MPs. The meeting took place after a breakfast meeting with MPs from NDA constituents on Friday (August 7, 2026).
On Saturday (August 8, 2026), he stated, “You can’t meet the youth on whom your government did the lathi charge, but you are assuring traitors who robbed Shiv Sena that you have their back.” He also asked whether the meeting was a threat or a message to the Supreme Court, when the hearing was lined up.
