Luxury department store Faradays is set to open on Auckland’s Queen St today but part of it will remain off-limits to the public for another week.
The $30 million development, announced last November, has involved a renovation of the heritage-listed Milne & Choyce building.
The three-storey department store will feature diverse retail experiences, valet parking and a new restaurant called Lottie’s , operated by Josh and Helen Emett.
But customers will have to wait until October 2 to try the new restaurant, with the brand soft launching for private bookings and staff training from September 26 to October 1.
On site the day before opening, Faradays chief executive Edward von Dadelszen told the Herald he was grateful to his team and everyone involved in the project.
