Plea to disqualify Mani C. Kappan MLA: Speaker seeks advice from Advocate General

Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has sought advice from the Advocate General regarding the plea to disqualify Mani C. Kappan, MLA.
In the first week of October, the Kerala High Court had directed the Speaker to decide on the question of the disqualification of the Pala MLA after his conviction in cheque-bounce cases.
Mumbai-based businessman Dinesh Menon had filed a petition seeking Mr. Kappan’s disqualification following his conviction.
Former Speakers, deputy Speakers and Legislators of the Keralam Assembly will be felicitated on November 1, Keralappiravi day, in connection with the start of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Assembly. The Keralam Assembly first convened on April 27, 1957. The platinum jubilee will be celebrated on April 27, 2027.
