Plea to allot land for playground at K.G. Chavadi Government School

The Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam has petitioned the Coimbatore district administration to allocate land for a playground at the K.G. Chavadi Government High School. Despite previous surveys and local resolutions supporting the move, the land has yet to be officially transferred.

The case illustrates the bureaucratic hurdles often faced in improving basic educational infrastructure in local communities.
The Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam has urged the Coimbatore district administration to allot land for a playground for the K.G. Chavadi Government High School, and threatened to stage a protest if the demand is not addressed.
In a petition submitted to the Coimbatore District Collector on Friday (September 4), organisation president V. Eswaran said repeated representations and protests had been made seeking land near the school for a playground.
Following the representations, government officials had conducted a survey and confirmed the availability of suitable government land near the school for developing a playground, he said.
The town panchayat, too, had passed resolutions on two occasions supporting the allotment of the land for the school’s playground.
