Plea seeks CB-CID probe into ‘misappropriation of funds’ meant for Adi Dravidar Hostel students

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday directed the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sivaganga District Crime Branch, to file a report on the progress made in the investigation into the case pertaining to misappropriation of funds sanctioned for the welfare of Adi Dravidar Hostel students in Sivaganga district.
A Division Bench of Justices C.V. Karthikeyan and R. Sakthivel directed the Sivaganga Collector to file a report with regard to the disciplinary action initiated against the erring officials.
The court was hearing the petition filed by A. Sakthivel of Karaikudi in Sivaganga district, who said it was filed with regard to the huge scam committed by the government officials involving more than ₹2.35 crore sanctioned for the welfare of the Adi Dravidar Hostel students.
