Play based in first female IDF soldier killed in September 2024 Gaza operation
Yuval Naim has created a children's play titled 'Out of Three, One is Missing' to process the grief of losing her sister, Agam, who was killed in a Gaza operation. Agam was the first female IDF soldier to die in the September 2024 operation.
Why it matters
The story highlights the personal human cost of the ongoing conflict in Gaza through the lens of art and family mourning.
For Yuval Naim, the grief of losing her younger sister, Agam, in the Gaza conflict is not a static sorrow but a shifting landscape. To process this new reality, the 28-year-old Jaffa resident has turned to the stage, channeling her family's heartbreak into a children's play titled Out of Three, One is Missing (Mishalosh Yotzet Achat), which premiered last week. Through a whimsical narrative about a hive of bees, Naim explores a heavy truth: There is no single, correct way to mourn.“It was hard for me to cope with the grief. I told my psychologist I didn't know what to do. She replied, 'You're a creator – so create,'” Naim said.
