Plateau Government Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew On Three Council Areas Amid Series Of Attacks

The state government directed residents to comply fully with the directive and organise their commercial, agricultural and other activities around the restricted hours.

The Plateau State government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas following heightened security concerns and a series of attacks and reprisal incidents reported across the affected communities.

The restriction, announced on Monday, requires residents of the three local government areas to remain indoors between 6pm and 6am until further notice.

Joyce Lohya, the Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, said the curfew was introduced to enable security agencies to stabilise the affected areas, protect lives and prevent a breakdown of law and order.

“The government also directed security operatives to strictly enforce the curfew across the three local government areas.
