Not less than four persons were reported killed after suspected terrorists carried out coordinated attacks in different communities in Plateau State on the night of Friday, August 28, 2026. According to conflict journalist, Masara Kim Usman, the terrorists first laid an ambush along the Barkin Ladi-Bokkos road, where they abducted two people, including Pastor Hills Emmanuel, a Ghanaian-Nigerian cleric based in Bokkos, who was travelling to the council after attending a programme in Jos. The body of Pastor Emmanuel was later found on Saturday morning close to where he was abducted, while the other abductee remains unaccounted for. The assailants were also said to have carried out attacks in different communities, including Fang village in Riyom, Radura village in Barkin Ladi and Chakfem village in Mangu.
