Plans to celebrate Kittur Utsav in grand manner, says Satish Jarkiholi
The Karnataka government has announced plans to scale up the Kittur Utsav festival with a budget of ₹10 crore and a new focus on public participation. The event will feature cultural programs, agricultural fairs, and a shift toward inviting intellectuals rather than politicians to inaugurate the festivities.

“We have plans to celebrate the Utsav on a grand scale this year. The State government will release ₹5 crore towards the festival. The Public Works Department will spend another ₹5 crore for various infrastructure development works in Kittur,’’ Satish Jarkiholi, Minister for Public Works and Belagavi district in-charge, said in Belagavi on Tuesday. He was speaking at a meeting to review preparations for the Utsav, which is scheduled for October 23, 24, and 25.
