Pixel 11 Models Will Start With 256GB Storage, Report Says

Google is reportedly discontinuing the 128GB storage option for its upcoming Pixel 11 series, making 256GB the new base configuration. While this change may lead to higher starting prices for US consumers, it addresses long-standing user complaints regarding limited storage capacity.
Why it matters
This shift reflects a broader industry trend toward higher base storage requirements as mobile apps and media files continue to grow in size.
Google may be discontinuing the 128GB storage option for future Pixel devices.
The Pixel 11 series could be on the way very soon.
It’s a trade-off. Yes, the Google Pixel 11 models could be considerably more expensive than the Pixel 10 lineup, but it looks like consumers will receive more base storage. According to Roland Quandt , a writer for German online tech magazine WinFuture, base storage for the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL will start at 256 GB. That’s a sizeable jump from the 128 GB on the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, although the Pixel 10 Pro XL does start with 256GB.
We’ll find out if this report is true on Aug. 12 at the Made by Google event , when the company officially announces the Pixel 11 lineup. Preorders for the new phones should begin that same day.
