Pinarayi disputes Keralam CM’s claim on personal staff

Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan has challenged Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan's claim that the previous LDF government appointed 787 personal staff members. Vijayan asserts the actual number was under 500 and has demanded the publication of the list to settle the dispute.
Why it matters
This reflects political friction and accountability debates regarding government spending and administrative transparency in Kerala.
Countering Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s allegation that the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) had appointed 787 personal staff, Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan said the claim was factually incorrect.
He said it was highly inappropriate for the Chief Minister to misrepresent matters for which clear records existed. Mr. Vijayan demanded that the Chief Minister disclose the list of 787 individuals.
