Pietersen appointed Specialist Mentor of England Men's white-ball setups

Kevin Pietersen, the former England captain, has been appointed specialist mentor to England men’s white-ball teams leading up to the 2027 ODI World Cup. His first assignment will be the white-ball tour to Australia, followed by South Africa. He will link up with the team again for the home series against Pakistan and New Zealand, working his way over the next 12 months into the World Cup. The flagship ODI event is set to be held in South Africa - the country of his birth - and co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia. Pietersen will be joining Brendon McCullum’s coaching setup, which will also include Marcus Trescothick, Tim Southee, Sarah Taylor and Jeetan Patel. He has previously worked with IPL franchise Delhi Capitals as a mentor.
