Streets became lakes in Regina during a fierce early morning thunderstorm Sunday morning, and Environment Canada says the severe weather could also impact this afternoon’s Riders game, with kickoff for the Labour Day Classic set for 5 p.m .
Dan Fulton, meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the storm that hit the Queen City was part of a storm system that began in the United States, with parts breaking off and moving north.
