Philippines sends first metric ton of Carabao mangoes to Canada

The Philippines launched its first commercial export of fresh Carabao mangoes to Canada, air-freighting a one-metric-ton shipment to Vancouver as Manila seeks to carve out premium overseas markets for its flagship agricultural products and lift rural incomes. The initial consignment of 250 cartons was dispatched Sept. 18 from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport complex in Parañaque City. The shipment was facilitated through a joint initiative between exporter Mensch FilAm Corp. and the Department of Trade and Industry’s Export Marketing Bureau under its Outbound Business Matching Mission program.
