Philippines: Leptospirosis cases top 1,000 in Quezon City

Quezon City has reported over 1,000 cases of leptospirosis between January and October 2026, with 66 deaths recorded. Health officials are urging residents to avoid floodwaters and seek medical advice following exposure.

The total number is 709 cases or 68% of those aged 21 and above. Male individuals were the most affected (788 cases).
The city also recorded 66 cases of deaths in the entire city related to leptospirosis.
