Philippines: Dozens of suspect hepatitis A cases monitored in Bukidnon’s Valencia City

Officials in the Province of Bukidnon in Northern Mindanao report monitoring 73 suspected Hepatitis A cases in Barangay Lurugan, Valencia City.
According to Barangay Captain, Marlon Librando Jr., currently only 13 confirmed cases of Hepatitis A in the area.

In addition, neighboring Barangay San Carlos has reported two cases.
Authorities said most of those infected are students aged 10 to 19.
Testing is reportedly underway, and no confirmed results have been released so far.
The source of the illness is also still being investigated.
For now, the City Health Office has ordered the temporary closure of eateries and other food-selling establishments in the barangay.
