Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon cancels remainder of solo tour after on-stage accident

Australian music star Phil Jamieson has been forced to cancel his 2026 Australian tour after fracturing his back in on-stage accident. The Grinspoon frontman was performing in Victoria’s Traralgon on Friday night when he slipped on stage and fell, hitting his back on a drum riser, which is a platform used to elevate the drummer for viewing purposes. The show was cancelled and Jamieson said he was rushed by ambulance to Latrobe Hospital, where doctors confirmed he fractured his L1 vertebra. Jamieson shared the story on social media, saying he was now expecting a long road to recovery. “I spent most of Friday in emergency getting different tests etc and by 4am I was confirmed to have fractured my L1 ,” he said. “With a prescription of bed rest and a long road to recovery.
