LAHORE - Enforcement teams of Punjab Food Authority under the directions of Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad, inspected 26 food points and units, sealing two water plants, two sweets and cake units and a renowned dairy production unit, while imposing heavy fines on 21 food businesses. The operation was conducted in Iqbal Town, Canal Road, Shah Alam Market, Shahpur Kanjran and adjoining areas. Food safety team sealed a dairy production unit after its butter sample failed laboratory testing and also imposed a fine. Two water plants were sealed after their water samples were found substandard, with harmful bacteria detected in the water. The DG PFA said that poor sanitation arrangements were observed at the inspected premises, while food items were found placed directly on the floor.
