Perth GP Fergus McCabe disarmed an axe-wielding attacker who attempted to kill his colleague Anna Chaney in her clinic in 2023.
He has been awarded one of 22 individual commendations for brave conduct announced by the Governor-General today.
Dr McCabe said many people acted bravely that day, including Dr Chaney and the patient who was present during the attack.
