Perplexity spent August 2025 trying to buy Google's Chrome browser with an unsolicited $34.5 billion offer, a bid worth roughly double the company itself at the time. A year on, Aravind Srinivas' AI search startup is on the other side of the table. Nvidia is in discussions to invest in Perplexity at a valuation of more than $30 billion, The Information reported, citing people with knowledge of the talks.That would be a jump of over 50 percent from the roughly $20 billion Perplexity carried after its last reported round. The round is described as worth billions of dollars, though neither Nvidia's stake nor the other participants have been named.
