BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday (August 24, 2026) slammed the Opposition parties for working with a "mindset of division" and insulting ‘Vande Mataram’ , and asserted that the people of India will change their mindset.

Speaking at a Samrasta Sankalp Diwas event to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas at Talkatora Stadium, Mr. Nabin said India's culture and heritage have faced challenges over the years, but their roots are strong enough to withstand them.

"People ruled this country for hundreds of years, but they failed to uproot the foundations of our culture. Even today, some people work with a mindset of division in society. ‘Vande Mataram’, which laid the foundation of India's freedom struggle and became a patriotic anthem for our martyrs and freedom fighters, is still being insulted by some people in this country," the BJP president said.
