Pendurthi MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu has urged the State government to take immediate steps to rehabilitate and relocate residents of Thadi village in Anakapalli district, citing safety concerns due to several pharmaceutical units in and around the village.
The MLA explained that in view of the repeated accidents reported in the pharma units surrounding the village and the pollution cause by the industries, the government should take immediate steps to relocate the residents of the village to a safer location. Stressing the significance of the relocation, he said it is necessary to protect the lives and health of the residents, who have been living in close proximity to the industrial units for many years.
Speaking during the ongoing Assembly session, Mr. Babu reiterated the relocation had remained a long-pending demand of the villagers, who had been seeking rehabilitation for nearly two decades.
