Student enrolment in government schools, including local body and other State-run institutions, in Peddapalli district has increased by 4.81% in the current academic year (2026-27) compared with last year.

According to official data, 32,636 students have enrolled in government and local body schools, Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society (TREIS), Telangana Model Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Urban Residential Schools (URSs) in the district so far, this academic year.

REIS, model schools, KGBVs and URSs across Peddapalli district this academic year till date. The combined enrolment in these institutions stood at 31,140 last year.

Peddapalli district has recorded the second-highest percentage increase in student enrolment in the State, next only to Mancherial district, official sources said.

The government has set an enrolment target of 34,254 students for Peddapalli district for the current academic year. The district needs to enrol another 1,641 students to achieve the target, sources added.
