IKUNGI, SINGIDA: The Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) in Singida region has introduced a new strategy of using traditional dance to educate the public on the effects of corruption and the importance of integrity in society.
This was demonstrated during a traditional dance festival held in Iyumbu ward, Ikungi district, Singida over the weekend, where various groups performed skillfully while emphasizing the slogan 'Our Dance, Our Integrity' (Ngoma Zetu, Uadilifu Wetu).
Speaking during the opening of the festival, the Singida PCCB Regional Bureau Chief, Sosthenes Kibwengo stated that Tanzanian societies possess a rich wealth of traditions, customs, songs, dances, and various arts that can be used to educate and mobilize community in fighting grafts.
"For a long time, traditional dances have been an important part of our lives, used to deliver messages and pass down knowledge and values from one generation to the next," Kibwengo said.
