A passenger was deboarded from an IndiGo flight bound for Kadapa at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, Telangana, after he allegedly touched the emergency exit handle triggering a security sensor alarm.
Initial information suggested that the passenger, Dinesh, attempted to open the emergency door while the flight was preparing for take-off from Shamshabad. Police, however, said the incident occurred during the boarding process and described his action as unintentional.
According to the police, Dinesh was initially seated in the ninth row but was subsequently shifted to the second row, which was in the emergency exit seating area.
“While settling in, he unintentionally touched the emergency exit handle, triggering a security sensor alarm,” the police said.
