A private bus driver and conductor allegedly attacked a passenger for questioning the collection of additional bus fare here on Friday (September 11, 2026).
According to the police, Ashokan (47), a resident of Muthugapatti in Namakkal, owns a mobile shop on Salem Road. On Friday night, he came to Namakkal from Salem on a private bus.
The bus conductor collected ₹38 as fare instead of ₹33, and the date and time mentioned in the ticket were changed. When he questioned it, a verbal duel broke out between him and the conductor.
