A severe thunderstorm warning issued late Monday afternoon for Toronto and parts of the GTA has been lifted.
At around 4:15 p.m., meteorologists at Environment Canada said they’re tracking a severe thunderstorm that is capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter-size hail, and heavy rain in the City of Toronto as well as in Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region and Vaughan - Richmond Hill – Markham.
The storm moved eastward through Toronto at 25 km/h. The national weather agency said it may result in 25 to 50 mm of rain.
