Parents’ body urges continuation of existing medical admissions norms in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh Medicos Parents Association is urging the state government to revert to the 'All Options' medical admission system established by G.O. Ms. No. 151. They argue that the new G.O. The Andhra Pradesh Medicos Parents Association has urged the State government to continue implementing G.O. Ms. No. 151, dated December 4, 2020, and reconsider the recently issued G.O. Ms. No. 102, dated July 30, 2026, relating to medical admissions conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences.
In a representation submitted to the University, association president Ala Venkateswarlu said the provisions of G.O. Ms. No. 102 appeared to be inconsistent with the directions issued by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in W.P. No. 11018 of 2019. The writ petition arose from grievances raised by students belonging to reserved categories during the 2019 medical admissions.
The association said the High Court had directed the constitution of a six-member expert committee to recommend a transparent admission procedure that would uphold the objectives of the reservation policy. Based on the committee’s recommendations, the government issued G.O. Ms. No. 151 in December 2020.
